St. Lucia shore excursions and island tours. 07/04/2010
![]() St Lucia land and sea excursions will give you a better outlook or appreciation of St. Lucia. After you leave your cruise ship, you will be met by The Real St. Lucia Tours staff who will accompany you to your tours through the hills and valleys to the picturesque island in the Caribbean chain as you traverse the beautiful scenes. This day will be one of the most memorable days for you as you will reminisce in years to come. From my personal experience, it is not unusual but rather the norm to see men riding bicycles carrying large bottles of water, propane etc, as they make their way up and down hill reminding me of the Amalfi coastline situated in Italy. En route to your tour are numerous spots where you can have the opportunity to have some dazzling photographs to capture all the beautiful scenery which your driver will gladly stop for on your request of course. You will also have the opportunity to see one of the island’s protective species of snake which will be on display by the roadside and not forgetting all the beautiful bays and scenic fishing villages with all it rural features. On approaching the scenic town of Soufriere which is the largest settlement on the west coast, you will discover the island’s World heritage site; the twin peaks called the Pitons. There is no doubt that you deserve to explore the town to experience all its features such as the World’s only drive-in volcano viz: Sulphur Springs, the Diamond water fall and Botanical Gardens with its lovely waterfalls and its eighteen-century mineral baths. You will be doing yourself a disservice to leave your country to travel all the way to St. Lucia and leave the island without seeing the above mentioned site. At your discretion, your guide will also make stop(s) along the way to permit you to have a snack from the local restaurant(s) or street vendor(s), however we will advice that in order to make the best use of your tour that you need to do less stop eating. Your tour will finish at it southernmost point close to one of the Pitons where you will be lead to the heliport to board the helicopter for your return trip to the city (Castries). In addition to the tours, you can blend your day with other St. Lucia activities. You will take a boat ride to the beach and will be welcome by our friendly employee who will get you acquainted with your surroundings. Facilities such as changing rooms, showers, lockers and rest restrooms are all available for your use. Also available are all the snorkel gears which await you to explore the Marine Reserve by yourself. You can also make use of the lounge chair found on the beach if you just want to look at the tropical water, take a walk to the self guided nature trail or enjoy your snorkel, with advice from our professional divers if you need it, to the prime reef of St. Lucia. By midday you will begin to smell the preparation of all our local delicacies (food) which will be in the form of a BBQ buffet with one soft drink. Thereafter you will have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the 18th century estate with its ruins and rich history and flora. The tours start from the restaurant and will last for about an hour or if you decide not to join, you have the preference of remaining on to beach to have a swim.
