A trip to Cul de Sac will take you to the banana plantation where you can view the three largest banana plantations. The latest and thriving community in St. Lucia is the town of Gros-Islet which is an amazing location where horse riding can be done. There you have the opportunity to attend a weekly street party and enjoy great moments which may not be available elsewhere. The Pigeon Island is located nearby which houses the Pigeon Island National Landmark Museum, which makes excellent viewing. St Lucia is an excellent tourist destination and there are lots of things to do and see. There are new things to do every day and I can assure that when you do visit, you are sure to return and not once but over and over. The Nightlife in St. Lucia The Caribbean island of St. Lucia has the best nightlife and evening activities and craters for everyone, whether it is a romantic spot to have a late romantic dinner or to spend an incredible night in a European style discotheque. The most important nightlife activity in St. Lucia is the Gros Islet Festival which is street party that is held every Friday night s and commences about 9:00pm near the Rodney Bay. Local/Caribbean music, dancing, souvenirs, barbecue and local beverages, are all set to keep you up until late into the night. If you are a lover of New Age Jazz, rhythm and blues, then the St. Lucian Jazz Festival is the place for you which is being held annually. ![]() It is a fact that the majority of Chefs in St. Lucia depends entirely on local (Creole) cuisine spices and garnishes, the island’s fish fries, hotel restaurants and natural beach bars guarantee that the menu is mixed, international and convincing. The island of St. Lucia has on several occasions hosted a number of all-inclusive hotels where guests enjoyed international cuisine; however, visitors who spend time outside of the hotel setting will be satisfied by the many vendors and shops which add local flavor to the scenery. Visit a fish fry in Gros Islet, Anse La Raye, or Dennery and try barbecue, tatiri (a small fish, deep-fried and eaten whole), and chargrilled tuna steak. Whether you're looking for excitement and dancing (Gros Islet) or something a little quieter (Anse La Raye, Dennery), fish fries are a cheap way to experience local cuisine and culture. The price at Anse la Raye will be about $5 (USD) per person and includes a drink. If you are looking for something special, then give one of the island’s plantation-style restaurants a visit. As for fast food it is always available, the price is cheap and includes burgers, barbeque and pizza and can be found on most of the Caribbean island. For visitors who have been on expedition (hiking or snorkeling) all day and may want to unwind can do so in one of the restaurants which serve a variety of foods, from Asian, Indian, and Mexican to the local Creole and Amerindian, to American Nouveau and where the prices are reasonable. A meal at one of these restaurants will cost between $12 (USD) and $20 (USD) before drinks and tip. These restaurants are located mostly in the tourist areas and also offer outdoor seating with views of beach or mountain sunsets to make your stay even more fascinating and memorable. Visitors who are looking for a more sophisticated dinning should visit the picturesque town of Soufriere, Rodney By and East of the City of Castries. Most of the hotel restaurants provide higher-end cuisine and anticipate the price to be just the same, ranging from $20 (USD) and on occasion above $30 (USD). In St. Lucia, visitors can also do their own cooking with their budget. It all depends whether the evening dinner brings in recreation or enthusiasm, many of the natives look at dinner as the best time to socialize or what we term in our local vernacular/dialect as "liming," or hanging out This is your new blog post.
